Safe Synthetic Ingredients Postage & Packing Shelf Life Product Guarantee 1. Safe Synthetic Ingredients Ingredients lists must mean something! Don’t be a mushroom--read on about the synthetics I’ve had to use so that you know why. Please be absolutely assured that I keep up to date on all of the current research and am extremely happy with my choices. Sodium laureth sulphate (SLES): a basic gentle bubbling agent. This is the easiest on your skin that I could find that would provide a basic lather. We use it in extremely low concentrations and only in conjunction with other agents to make a formulation gentle enough to be called Comfort & Joy. DO NOT confuse it with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS)--very harsh and not to be given shelf space—we do NOT use this! Cocamidopropyl betaine: Another even gentler bubbling agent.

Polysorbate 20: An extremely gentle bubbling agent! Put all of these together as we do, then you have a proper made with love bubble!

PEG-6000 distearate: This is a thickener. We need a very tiny amount of this (and it is the kindest available) so that our washes and shampoos have enough viscosity to stay out of your (or your baby’s) eyes. Your happiness and that of your baby is important to us.

Methyl glucose sesquistereate: Ah, the sugar-derived emulsifier which makes our lotions possible. Lotion (like a salad dressing) would separate over time. We’ve found an extremely gentle, naturally-derived way to hold a lotion together. This emulsifier is also a moisturising agent in its own right, so it shouldn’t irritate your skin like other emulsifiers can.

Parabens: These are preservatives, and used only where it would be dangerous not to in a very few of our products. Preservatives have a nasty job to do, and they are not nice, but we do sometimes need them. We have done a lot of research into finding the gentlest and safest permitted by law for you.

3. Shelf Life

All of our products have a statutory shelf life of 30 months unopened. Once opened, however, the skin care and the colours should be used within 6 months. The shampoos and the bubble baths should be used within a year of opening. There are emblems on the labels to remind you. Keeping your natural goodies safe from extremes of temperatures will enhance their shelf life as will using a clean, dry spoon or spatula instead of fingers— it’s important to avoid the introduction of damp and bacteria.

4. Product Guarantee

We are very proud of our products. If, for some reason, they do not suit, simply return the item in question within ten working days of receipt with a detailed explanation (so that we might steer you in the direction of something which would work for you--even if it’s not ours) and we’ll send you a full refund or credit towards your next purchase. Postage and Packing is non-refundable.
